World of Leading Golf is committed to ensuring supreme quality within its member clubs and regularly tests the clubs on all aspects of their offering. Those clubs that perform the best in these tests are put forward as nominees for the categories of Best Newcomer, Best Overall Impression, Best Course Conditions, Best Culinary Offerings and Best Service. La Reserva de Sotogrande was nominated in two categories – Best Culinary Offerings and Best Service.

We faced stiff competition from the other nominees, including Club de Golf Alcanada, Gorki Golf & Resort, Golfclub Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee and Kölner Golfclub. But all testers unanimously stated that the excellent overall service was particularly noteworthy at La Reserva Club Sotogrande. From details such as “Bags were collected by the Caddie Master from the car and returned to the car at the end of the round.” or in general terms; ”All staff acknowledged my presence, and were polite and friendly.”, the testers felt that La Reserva was a worthy winner of this category.

La Reserva Golf Course is an 18-hole championship course, designed by Cabell B. Robinson and opened in 2003. Included in the World’s Top 100 golf courses and ranked 9^th in Spain, it is loved for its wide fairways, large and beautifully maintained greens and gentle yet challenging undulations. All of this has made it a must play course for golfers on the Costa del Sol and we are delighted that the level of service and experience has been recognized by the World of Leading Golf Awards.

You can book a tee time and a buggy online for a day and time that suits you best. But, if one great course is not enough and you want to experience Sotogrande’s best golf courses, then the Sotogrande Classic Package is for you. This is a 3 night stay-and-play package, which includes three green fees for La Reserva, Valderrama and Real Club Sotogrande, with accommodation at the Almenara Hotel.

Tennis has been central to life in Sotogrande since 1965 and we have fantastic tennis facilities to enjoy at La Reserva. We have four clay tennis courts, one multi-sport court and five glass-walled padel courts here at La Reserva and this month we’re bringing a wonderful new tennis coach to train our youngest guests.

Jorge Cortés Rojas comes to us from the Rafa Nadal Academy, with a huge amount of experience training children and adults to perform at the very highest level and inspiring a lifelong love of tennis.  He likes to motivate children and adults to do their very best, strive to improve their game and learn new techniques so they can enjoy the game to the full.

Jorge will be teaching beginner, intermediate and advanced programs during school term. The beginners and intermediate learners have six, one-hour lessons, over the course, and the advanced students have a one and a half hour lesson per week. We are strictly restricting numbers, to offer more personalized attention. There will be a maximum of six children per class in the beginner and intermediate groups and no more than four at the advanced level. Beginners will train on Mondays at either 4.30pm, or 5.30pm and the six week course is 75€ per student. Intermediate classes will run on Tuesdays at either 4.30pm, or 5.30pm and the six week course is 75€ per student. The advanced program is on Wednesdays from 4.30 to 6pm, or 6 to 7.30pm and the six week course is 125€ per student for nine hours of training.

As well as tennis, we have some wonderful water sports courses on our brand new sports lagoon at The Beach. The lagoon is 17,000 square meters and offers an amazing range of activities. These new courses start from Monday 24^th of September and are four weeks long, with 1.5 hour lessons each week.

Children from 8 to 18 years of age can enjoy our X-Fit on Water classes. These fun classes include games, competitions and fitness exercises using paddle boards (SUP) and kayaks. This is a fun and innovative way to improve one’s balance, coordination and fitness. Children from 8-12 years old can take part on Wednesday from 4.30-6pm and there is a class for kids from 12-18 years old on Mondays at the same time. X-Fit on Water classes are 120€ per child for the 4 week course.

Kayak Polo is an innovative new sport which is played between two teams, each with give players. It is a fun, yet demanding activity, which will improve fitness and coordination. We have two classes a week running, for 11-14 year olds on Tuesday from 4.30-6pm and another for the 15-18 age group at the same times on Thursday. Kayak Polo classes are 140€ for the 4 week course.

Last but not least, we have a family activity on Saturday mornings, where the whole family can compete against each other, or group together against other families. There are races and circuits using kayaks and paddle boards, which are great fun and excellent for getting everyone out and active at the weekend, as well as spending some quality time together. The Family Fun and Fitness activities are on Saturdays from 11.30-1pm and it is 200€ per parent and child for the 4 week course.
