Golf Maintenance

Our maintenance team led by Jose Maria Menacho continues to work to keep
the course in optimum conditions.
To keep the greens in the optimum state of firmness and speed we are
carrying out a series of micro-puncturing and top dressing works; these
works are coordinated with the golf operations team so as not to impact the
golfer early in the morning or late in the day.
9 mm spikes are used to perforate the profile of the green to a depth of 15
cm and then top dressing with a light layer of sand. With this operation we
manage to decompact and aerate the soil so that the root system of the green
can be maintained in the best conditions and achieve greater infiltration of
irrigation water. It will help the green to be firmer and the plant healthier.
The projects mentioned in the previous edition of this newsletter are already
underway.
Tees of the course.
The tees on the 9 and 12 holes have been levelled and
we are waiting for the sod to be in ideal density conditions to be able to lay it.
It will be in the first days of May.
The platforms of the yellow tees of holes 9 and 12 have been extended in
surface allowing a better management of the space in the future.

Extension of the practice tee.
The artificial tee of the driving range is under construction.
It will be finished in the first days of May with the laying of the artificial turf. This extra
extension will allow us to better manage the quality of the natural grass tee by offering rest periods without limiting the practice tee of its operational capacity.
The driving range has also been divided into two different areas: members and visitors.

Visually the player will now have a visual
driver target at the end of the driving range. We have also cleaned up the back of the driving range to allow for more efficient ball collection.
These works will allow to face the spring without difficulties and are carried out early in the morning or late in the afternoon, always allowing play on the course.
As indicated in the Members’ Annual Letter, the course will be closed for maintenance from the 6th to the 19th of June (both inclusive).

Golf competitions
Congratulations to David Wright who won the Spring Tournament for the second consecutive year held on the 15th and 16th of April.
In May we will have the following golf tournaments for our members:
• Annual League: 20th of May
The IX Sotogrande Golf Tour will be held on the 4th of June at our club.

We would also like to remind you that the Mens’ Roll-ups are played on Tuesdays and Fridays and the Ladies’ Roll-ups on Mondays and Thursdays.
Interclubs
On the 18th of April the 1st Ladies’ Interclub was held against Los Naranjos Golf Club, with a result of 2-1 for Los Naranjos away and 2-1 for La Reserva at home.
It was a nice day of golf in which our members and guests could enjoy a lunch after the game in the wonderful terrace of our restaurant.

Camilla Lennart, professional golfer of the LPGA and Ladies European Tour, will give you the opportunity to learn in a dynamic and fun way the basic and advanced notions of the world of golf. We look forward to seeing you at our driving range from 10.00h to 12.00h.
Taylor Made Demo Day. Wednesday, 11th May.
You will be advised by a professional fitter and will have the opportunity to learn about the brand’s full range of products and try out the new, state-of-the-art launch monitor technology.
Each fitting will last 30 minutes, and the timetable will be from 10.00h to 14.00h and from 15.00h to 17.00h. If you wish to try 2 or more products, the
fitting will last 1 hour.

PING offers the longest running and most accurate custom club recommendation process in the world of golf. To personalize your experience, a certified fitter will advise you on the product that best suits your needs.
Each fitting will last 30 minutes and will take place from 10.00h to 14.00h.

If your chosen time is not available, we will offer you the next available time.
Please note that the driving range is open from Monday to Sunday from 8.00h to 8.00h,

Life’s a Beach
During May, The Beach is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 7pm. We are looking forward to welcoming you to the restaurant for lunch and to enjoy lazy days in the spring sunshine.
This year, the restaurant at The Beach is open every evening to dine under the stars from the 11th of July to the 4th of September. In addition to providing many exciting events throughout the season, we’re hosting chefs from five Michelin-starred restaurants for special GASTROnomic Journeys at La Reserva Club this summer.
