SportsLa Reserva Club supports rising padel star

Mimmi Dalebring and her family always visit us when they are in Spain. Mimmi loves padel tennis and despite her young age, she shows real promise and is entering tournaments in Scandinavia and doing really well. When her father asked us to feature our logo on her competition outfit, we were delighted to agree, as we’re passionate about supporting and teaching young players to fulfil their potential.

Mimmi is just 15 years old and has only been playing padel for two years, but she’s picked it up really quickly, has made rapid progress and in April she secured her first big win. Mimmi and her partner Eliza Bosson won the Girls Under-16 Category of the Bullpadel Explosion Tournament in Skurup in Sweden. This has given her a ticket into the final of the national tournament due to take place in July and we are all rooting for her here at the club.

We caught up with her to find out more about this young padel tennis star and see what her hopes for the future are.

Hi, Mimmi! How did you get into padel?

I started playing with my Dad because I thought it looked fun when he played. I live in Helsingborg in Sweden where padel is a really big sport and there are plenty of opportunities to play. I thought it was a fun, social sport and it was easy to get started’.

What does padel mean to you and what does it teach you?

Padel means a lot to me and is a big part of my life. It is a way for me to relax and enjoy my free time. It teaches me patience and gives me more confidence.

Congratulations on your win at the Bullpadel Explosion Tournament. What are your plans for the future? Would you like to play padel professionally?

My plans for the future is to balance both school and padel and maybe move to Spain one day to focus 100% on my padel. I want to compete against the best girls in the world and have fun on the way to the top.

That’s a great attitude! We’re so happy to have you visit our Racquet Centre to develop your game. How would you say our Racquet Centre has helped you along the way?

The Racquet Centre has helped me a lot. It has been the best training place and the different padel coaches at La Reserva Club have really helped me to improve my game.

Who do you look up to in the world of padel tennis?

My biggest role models are Alejandra Salazar (number 1 female player in the world) and Amanda Girdo (Sweden’s most promising young talent).

How do you face the next tournament?

I go into every tournament with the intention to do my best and have fun. When I am on the court I always want to feel calm, focused and enjoy it. I believe that’s how you get the best results.

We wish Mimmi and Eliza all the best for the Bullpadel Explosion Tournament in July, which takes place in Båstad from the 20th to the 23rd of July.

If you’d like to develop your padel tennis game, please join us at one of our padel events, or take classes with our highly experienced, professional coaches. As you can see from Mimmi, with the right training, you can go a long way!
